THE DYING BALLERINA
First there was Edouard Manet’s painting The Dead Toreador. Then there was Hans Holbein the Younger’s painting of The Body of the Dead Christ in the Tomb. Both paintings were the catalyst for the painting of The Dying Ballerina.
